Installed ultrasn0w and used a prepaid T-mobile SIM. Redsn0w got hung up on the reboot, so I had to unplug the iPhone and replug it back in to get around the bug. Used redsn0w 0.8 and used 3.0.0 firmware (NOT 3.0.1) The baseband is the same, so ultrasn0w still works
#Redsn0w ios 8.2 update#
They said they’ll update redsn0w to recognize the 3.0.1 firmware, but that’s the only change that would be made. They said there are no changes to the files that redsn0w modifies between versions, only the SMS patch. I just read on the iPhone Dev Team blog that it is OK to use redsn0w 0.8 with the 3.0.1/3.0 combo to jailbreak. By ‘service’ Apple means they may refuse to fix your phone if you bring it to them because you bricked it somehow. No, the exploit has nothing to do with the root password as I understand it.

Does disabling the apple killswitch prevent that? If we stay at 3.0 does a root & mobile password change afford any protection against the SMS security exploit? Secondly, apple has threatened a DoS on jailbroken devices. There’s no baseband update so no according to the Dev Team who discussed this on their various Twitter pages. As for 3.0.1 i think i will hold off until the 3.1 is out. I surpassed that in my first hour on Cydia.

Thank you to all that made Cydia,i have spent a total of 3$ in the app store since it came out. I love what you all have done since I last Jailbroke Aug 08.

I just jailbroke mine yesterday, I started back in the day Nov. Though I feel chances are pretty remote the typical person would have to worry about this. The only benefit would be the SMS vulnerability patch.
